Towards Inclusion

About Us

The original forums, and this continuing website, are the work of concerned citizens. Among us:

  • Sue Brady
  • Sue Carlson
  • Betty Ester
  • Richard Girard
  • Marilyn Justman
  • Jan Otwell

Over 20 institutions, civic, business and religious, sponsored the forums. Their names can be found on the flyer for the first forum.

As a group, we have attended the meetings of the Housing Commission, Planning and Development Committee, and city Council, regularly since the Inclusionary Housing idea was first considered in early 2003.

Individually, we have held responsible posts in building management, shared housing management, HUD, and state government ... and lawyering!

We're also individually active in such organizations as the League of women Voters, Interfaith Housing of the North Shore, Citizens Lighthouse Community Land Trust and a collection of Evanston's churches.

We have an average of 34 years' residence in Evanston, among us. Among us, we represent single-family home owners, 2-flat owners, apartment renters, condo owners, and retirement home residents.
